Ok, legal question reguarding being let go or not.?

Asked by: 137 views , , , , , ,

So, I work in a which has several that need to be met. The policy is that if you dont qualify, you are placed on a warning, and the new month starts over. Once are completed with not qualifying, you are terminated. If you do qualify for the month after recieving any , the is removed and you start over again. That being said, I had 3 of 4 months at no qualified, so I was the final (as in one more month and I would be fired). I thought I was about to be fired. The company released a statement saying because of business needs they were going to forgo the advancement of for everyone. I foudn out when the metrics were totaled for April, that I DID qualify. My proceeded to inform me that I was still on final because it didnt count (because it was all withheld). Any ideas?

Are you in the US? If so, you are an employee at will unless you have a contract that says you aren’t.

The PiP process is company policy, not a legal issue, and the company can change it or suspend it if they want to. You can still be fired, and could be even if you DO qualify in all future months.
