Performance Improvement Plan?

So my basically stopped communicating with me in october. This past July he promoted me. from October through February I wondered what was up with him. I continued with my . I finally told him that i felt like i wasnt getting much feedback. He says, well we can go over that next week, i’d like to talk about it in an organized . I said, ok have things been bad? He didnt answer. I knew something not good was coming. So on our regular he tells me that he has been discouraged with my performance and has put me on a , so let’s head up to HR. I was like, um ok. We get up there with the and he starts going into a that i had difficulty with back in oct. I just ended up crying. He has two employees who are and he wants them on . We are not hiring due to the so i think he wants to get rid of me to bring them on. AM i perfect? no, but i dont think it needed to come to this. So i’m on a 45 day plan doing things I dont want to do. I dont know if i should do my best…or just do whatever and wait to get fired? I feel like no matter what i do…he will fire me.

    Hi, This looks very difficult for you. Sometimes it helps to be a bit pushy in these circumstances and fight back. How long have you worked there ? and how long for this boss. I suggest that you put something in writing to HR as you could well have grounds for constructive dismissal. Write a short polite letter with the following points.
    1. Surprised to be on a PIP when you were promoted last year.
    2.Your boss has not given you any feedback of any kind or mentioned poor performance.
    3. Why has he failed to communicate and refused to communicate with you since last October.
    3. Can you confirm that if I complete the PIP successfully that no further action will be taken.
    4. Ask HR for a formal monthly review with HR and your boss to review progress on the PIP and identify any issues for action.

    I did help my wife in this way and we fixed it!. You need to get something in writing asap. Do you have a trade union at work ??
